Our Mission

To advance the education of children, particularly but not exclusively in the Kombo area of The Gambia.

What We Have Achieved

When we first met the headmaster in October 2003, the school was a very decrepit building with two classrooms.

Now we have a new building in the headmasters compound with 3 classrooms housing 154 children, running water, and electricity. A headmaster's office with glass in the windows, where visitors can be met and all the administration can be carried out.

We hope to open a library shortly, so that the local community can benefit as well. We are currently storing books. In the meantime the library space is being rented out as a local shop, hence generating a small income for the school.

We also have provision for a sewing room to enable the school uniforms to be made on the premises. A set of wrought iron gates were made locally to keep out those children not fortunate enough to be able to attend school.

The 'playground' floor has been laid with a mosaic screed. Not only has the school been registered with the Gambian government, but it is also a registered charity here in the UK.
